AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based national service program for men and women ages 18-26. The program is designed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service projects. This position will manage teams of young adults in our Summer of Service program.
The stated salary does not include locality pay. Remote employees receive the locality rate associated with the location of their worksite, typically the employee's residence.

This position is located in the Department of the Chief Program Office, AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps).
The Unit Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of assigned Team Leaders (who in turn manage a group of Corps Members) to facilitate the successful completion of multiple service projects. Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the upper range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience must include all of the following: 1) Experience leading or supervising groups of people to include teambuilding and conflict resolution; 2) Experience working on structured projects that include time or production schedules and milestones; and 3) Work experience conducting training sessions for groups of people.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
If you are qualifying based on education alone, you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must be from an accredited institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. educational standards.
You may also qualify based on a combination of education and experience, if applicable.
