As a Health Communication Specialist, you will:

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing from-scratch materials such as social media, partner toolkits, and patient education materials and experience in risk communications and technical writing for general and technical audiences during a public health emergency, health care outbreak, or similar event, including rapid development of press release drafts, talking points, and rollout plans.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
